ROCKVILLE, MD (January 18, 2024) – Pathways by Behavioral Framework is pleased to announce that they are continuing to expand their diagnostic services by adding Dr. Mekdes Damenu, Psy.D. to their growing team.

Dr. Damenu, an accomplished Clinical Psychologist, brings a wealth of experience in school psychology and child and family therapy. A graduate of Mount St. Mary's University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, she furthered her expertise with a Doctorate in School Psychology from Nova Southeastern University, accredited by the American Psychological Association and approved by the National Association of School Psychologists. Her postdoctoral training at Kennedy Krieger Institute with Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Pediatric Psychology honed her skills in a variety of therapeutic approaches including CBT, DBT, psychodynamic, and play therapy techniques. She has a notable background in conducting comprehensive evaluations and providing treatments in diverse settings, including schools, community centers, and private practice. With her license as a Psychologist in Maryland and an Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology, she is well-equipped to provide exceptional care and support.

“We are excited to welcome Dr. Damenu to Pathways,” said Angela West, Chief Clinical Officer, Behavioral Framework. "Her commitment to providing personalized care and her extensive practice in collaborating with families and educators make her an invaluable asset to our team.”

“Working with children with Autism and developmental disorders has always been a passion of mine, and I look forward to contributing to the innovative approaches and compassionate care this organization is known for,” said Dr. Damenu, Child Psychologist, Pathways.

Behavioral Framework was founded in 2017 with a vision of providing exceptional care and better client outcomes for children diagnosed with autism and their families. In 2022, recognizing the growing community need, Behavioral Framework introduced Pathways by Behavioral Framework, its diagnostic facility that conducts comprehensive assessments for Autism and developmental disabilities in children aged 0 to 21. The initiative has helped reduce the lengthy wait times, previously up to a year, for children in need of diagnoses. Since its inception, Pathways has served hundreds of clients, providing families with thorough assessment reports and resources tailored to their children's needs. With the ongoing expansion of the team, including the addition of Dr. Damenu and other support staff, Pathways continues to enhance its capacity to provide timely diagnoses and initiate treatment for children in the region.

Earlier this year, Behavioral Framework received a significant investment from Renovus Capital Partners, enabling the continued expansion of their reach in ABA therapy and diagnostic services. This investment not only bolsters Behavioral Framework's capabilities but also contributes to the economic development of the region.
