What is your title? Describe what you do.

As a Senior Clinical Support Specialist I oversee the coaching and coordinate support. I train/coach BTs/RBTs on skills acquisition/data collection, behavior reduction/escalation cycle/ professionalism guidance/mentoring staff, and any specified BCBA request through the BST model and creating coaching plans. I conduct fidelity checks to ensure therapy is being run effectively and effectively. I Provide clinical onboarding training and in-person training. I’m an internship coordinator in which I acclimate interns to the organization, assign projects and responsibilities, give supervision, have 1 on 1 mentorship meetings, guide them through their learning objectives and the internship curriculum. I’m over group instructions for the clinic: Create, implement, and maintain the group instructions activities some of which include: morning meeting, afternoon group, snack and chat, social explorations, life skills, toy rotations etc. All of which help with the development of the client (e.g taking turns, raising hands, waiting, manding to peers etc.) and goes in line with the BCBA programs.

The most impactful part of my work is being able to make a difference in the lives and hearts of others and bring change.

What drew you to Behavioral Framework?

I loved the small oriented style, flexibility, and care for the staff.

 

What’s your favorite memory or team moment so far?

My favorite team moments are watching staff improve on their skills and gaining confidence.

 

What’s the most impactful part of your work for you personally?

The most impactful part of my work is being able to make a difference in the lives and hearts of others and bring change.

What preparation or mindset is most helpful for someone starting this job?
Have a growth mindset. Come into the space ready to learn new things! Have a renewed perspective about challenges. See that every challenge is an opportunity. Understand this is everyone’s first time living so we are ALL learning and nobody’s perfect. So get comfortable with asking questions and don’t feel bad about it.

I would advise someone to pursue a job at a behavioral framework because of the core values of the company. It’s important when values align. I think people would love the community, support, and care that we give to clients and staff.
