What is your title? Describe what you do.
I’m a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT). I implement the behavior plans made by our BCBA’s and work directly with our clients. My primary role is to help clients build positive behaviors while decreasing unsafe or disruptive behaviors.
“My favorite memory so far was when one of my clients learned to say ‘yes’ and ‘no’ for the first time. It was a big breakthrough, and seeing their mom’s joy and pride made it even more meaningful.”
I really loved the environment. Everyone is very supportive and dedicated to making a difference in the lives of their clients and their families.
What’s your favorite memory or team moment so far?
My favorite memory so far is probably when one of my clients learned how to say “yes” and “no” for the first time. This was a major breakthrough for them and seeing the joy and pride on their mother’s face made the experience even more meaningful.
What’s the most impactful part of your work for you personally?
The most impactful part of my job is being able to see progress with my clients. I love being able to watch them grow, learn, and overcome challenges. It reinforces my love for working with children and reminds me that even the smallest steps forward can lead to meaningful and lasting change.
What preparation or mindset is most helpful for someone starting this job?
I would say having an open mindset is best when first going into the field of ABA. Just know you won’t have all the answers right away and that’s okay. Be open to feedback from your supervisors and don’t be afraid to ask questions.
Would you advise someone to pursue a job at Behavioral Framework? Why do you think they’d enjoy it?
Definitely! The environment at the Greensboro clinic has a fantastic and supportive environment and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to make a positive impact on children’s lives.
