1. What is your title? Describe what you do.
I’m the Associate Clinical Director for Pathways. On the Pathways side, we assess and diagnose children with autism and make sure they’re connected with the right resources for treatment. As Clinical Director, I also help oversee the department and will be supporting training and development for our incoming doctoral students, which I’m very excited about.
“I love being part of a team that genuinely cares, and I think we show up every day trying to do our best for families who need us most.”
2. What drew you to Pathways?
I especially love Pathways’ mission to make services accessible to everyone in this area, especially those who are often underserved. That really resonated with me. I love being a part of a team that genuinely cares, and I think we show up every day trying to do our best for the families who need us most.
3. What are the most rewarding parts of your job?
I have such a deep love for assessment—it feels like solving a puzzle to help families understand what’s going on beneath the surface. I enjoy bringing clarity and direction, especially for kids who are struggling. I truly believe assessment is the foundation of mental health treatment, and it’s an honor to help families get the answers and support they’ve been looking for.
4. What advice would you give to someone looking to pursue a role like yours? Are there specific character traits or skills/certifications they should possess?
Do it for the right reasons! This job isn’t always fun and definitely isn’t always easy—but the impact you can make on a family’s life is absolutely worth it. To get to this point in my career, I went through 11 years of school and 2 years of post-graduate work. You have to be passionate about the work to stay the course, but if you are, it’s incredibly rewarding.
5. What do you like best about Pathways?
Honestly? My team. We’re so hands-on, and everyone is willing to pitch in and help. I couldn’t ask for a better group of people to collaborate with, bounce ideas off of, and laugh with on the hard days. It really makes a difference.
6. Would you recommend someone to work at Pathways? And why?
Absolutely. If you’re looking for a place that will value your input and your work, this is the place to be.
